The use of the atomic bombs on Japan in World War II was unjustified. The action brought the Soviet Union into an arms race with the United States that led to the Cold War, it killed 200,000 innocent Japanese civilans, and it caused damage to Japan's cities and land that would affect the country for generations.
On August 6th and August 9th, 1945 the dropping of the Atomic Bomb happened. The first dropping was on Hiroshima and the second dropping was on Nagasaki. The Americans wanted a virgin target to see how much mass destruction the bomb could cause. Japan finally surrendered on September 2nd, 1945 and World War two finally ends.
